Hi :
I just want to inquire about Mr Orlando Mejia, former US Navy in Switzerland and a
native of Pangasinan. I used to call him uncle Rolly when I was young. He was a family
friend. My mom Mila Bacay-Castro and my Auntie Lynda Bacay-Elkin were very
impressed of his humility and comradeship. My dad Arturo is from Tayug. My name is
Please join us in praying for the eternal repose of the soul of my uncle greg who just
passed away... he had a massive heard attack according to the news I got from my
auntie Purita.... I do not have more details to share with all of you...for those who remember him, he represented our congressional district at one time...he rose from the ranks at national media production center and became its director and subsequently
became minister of public information during the marcos years...God bless everyone
and thank you...

Mr G. Cendana's body is resting at Funeraria , La Paz , Quezon City.
He will be moved to his final resting place in his beloved town of San Nicolas,

I'm glad to find this site: I've always been interested to learn about my family's roots and planned to trace my
family tree at least on my maternal, Mejia, side of my family. Anyways, I'm Marco Polo Salcedo from Laguna.
My mother is Marilyn Mejia Salcedo and her family is from Santiago , Isabela. My lola is Margarita Jose Mejia
who is now around 70 years old.I have a copy of their marriage certificate and it says there that my lolo is
Pablo Guiang Mejia( deceased} . His parents were Laureano Mejia and Jenoveva Guiang.I wish I could know
their middle names but the farthest that I can research as of now. I also learned that there are lot Mejias in
Santiago, mostly in the town of Baluarte.
By the way, is there a certain affinity between Nicolas family and Mejia family ?. I'm just wondering because a
certain Francisco Nicolas was a witness to the wedding of my grandparents. When I searched the internet, there
was certain Nicolas-Mejia family in California.
Additional bit of information also Do you know that Manny Pacquiao is related to Mejias of Leyte also. I'm
just not sure if it is his mother or his grandparents. I just read it somewhere...wherein Pacquiao asked Long
Mejia ( a comedian) asked if has relatives in Leyte. Long said that he has.

As i may qoute Marco Polo Salcedo’s email dated Dec 2, 2008: “Additional bit of information also Do you know that Manny Pacquiao is related to Mejias of Leyte also. I'm
just not sure if it is his mother or his grandparents. I just read it somewhere...wherein Pacquiao asked Long Mejia ( a comedian) asked if has relatives in Leyte. Long said that he has.”
Yes it’s confirmed that Long Mejia and Manny Pacquiao are related
1st with Long Mejia, when my Tatay’s Uncle died in April of 2004 it was our 1st time (me and my Kuya’s) to go to the province of my tatay which was in Inopacan, Leyte and when we got to the funeral there were so many relatives that came from different barangay and neighboring towns of inopacan including Hilongos, Leyte and one distant relative told a story about Long Mejia being a far distant relative of ours and Long Mejia also hails from Hilongos, Leyte
And as for Manny Pacquiao, his Maternal grandmother who is Cristina Mejia Dapigran (Dapigran is her husbands surname) is my Lolo’s cousin which is Fortunato Dacera Mejia, Aling Dionisia Pacquiao is my tatay’s cousin so that makes me manny’s cousin ^_^ i think my lolo and manny’s lola are 1st cousins, with the degree or distant of our relativeness with pacquiao is still not quite sure. Hope i helped the topic to be enlightened J thanks a lot again

Want to send a shout out to any Mejias from Inopacan. I am based in NY, but my father, Iluminado Mejia (born in Tacloban), traces his roots to Inopacan, Leyte where his father (my Lolo), Epifanyo "Panyong" Mejia came from. Would love to reconnect and hopefully learn more about the Inopacan branch of the Mejia Family Tree. Sincerely, Bucky Mejia (New York)

This is in response to your post. I heard the same story from my father before when I asked him about my late mom's family roots. He said my mom's grandfathers and grandmother were originally from Spain and migrated here in the Philippines but later moved to different provinces for some reason. One of them which is my mom's grandfather named Sixtush Mejia moved to Merida, Leyte and started his own family. Most of the Mejia clan members now are located here in the visayas region. I hope this response helps.

Hi! I
'm wondering if anybody knows Jose V. Mejia? He's recently been
appointed academic representative of the Judicial and Bar Council.
